\u201cCarmen, la Stella del Circo di Siviglia\u201d<\/strong> is an educational-participatory opera performance put on by AsLiCo <\/strong>within the Opera Domani<\/strong> project (http:\/\/operadomani.org), which took \u201cCarmen\u201d to more than 20 Italian cities<\/strong>. The University of Macerata<\/strong> and the accessibility team of Macerata Opera Festival<\/strong>, in collaboration with Unione Italiana Ciechi e Ipovedenti<\/em> (Marche region, Italy) carried out a project which aimed at making \u201cCarmen\u201d accessible to blind children<\/strong>. To this end, we organised a one-day workshop involving blind children and their sighted friends coming from all over the Marche region in order to both write and record together the audio description for the show.
\nThe project is the first of its kind in Italy \u2013 and in the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n
